I swear last night I had three mines and 130 Neptonium. Now this morning I lost a mine (not surprised) and I am down to 87 Neptonium. Can this stuff be stolen?? If it can how can I protect it?

It's not "stolen" in that the Np is *not* added to anyone's total. If a mine is captured the previous owner loses 20% of their neptunium to the gods and the mine's production is reset to the new owner.

Not stolen per se, lost. If you lose control of a Mine, you will lose 20% of your Neptunium. Be careful, as your lead is never secure. In my last game, I lost a Mine literally minutes before I won, when I had 199 Np. (Still won, but it took an extra 12 hours.)

Note that it is lost, not stolen. That is, the person taking the Mine will not receive it.

Ugh, that is simply brutal. Congrats on the recovery!

I'm not sure where you got the 20% thing from. By the time I got eliminated I had zero Neponium left so I think it may all be "lost". Which really would have been good to know upfront, when I first read the rules.

In general I hope there is a complete revamp of the game play and specialist abilities. There is a lot of basic stuff "missing" and the search feature on this forum is awful.

If you lose control of a mine, you also lose 20% of your Neptunium, and the production timer of the mine is reset. Note that the player taking the mine from you does NOT gain any Neptunium, only an increased mining rate.
