Takeover of outposts outside of sonar range

If an outpost that is outside of your sonar range is taken over by a third player, do see the change of color of that post? Also does the intel screen show the correct number of outposts or does it get updated when I extend my sonar range to that outpost?

I really want to know that, too.
If noone else is able to provide an answer I'll ne able to soon. It'll take another 14 Hours though.

I scrolled back in the Time Machine to the beginning of the game and I see outposts changing color. But I need someone to confirm that this is also true for outposts that got captured recently as soon as possible.

Yes, you will see the color change and the outpost count does change in rankings.
