Changing neptunium target?

Questions about rules, how things work, etc.

  • I had thought that you could change the target amount of neptunium when you start a game. However I no longer see that option. I'm not sure if I was just dreaming or it has been removed in the recent update. Can anyone confirm either way?

The reason being I had a game with 4 players that took a long time and we felt a better target might have been maybe 50 neptunium.

I can't remember if there was ever an option to do this. However the Dev's made 200 the target amount for a very specific reason.
On a blog post, they revealed that setting the limit to low makes mining and turteling the far superior strategy, and everybody ends up sitting and mining.
Put it too high and being militaristic is the best strategy, as more specialists are added in defenses are easier to crack and a snowball effect occurs.

They set it to 200 because in a period of 10 days both militaristic strategies and mining strategies had a more or less equal chance of winning.

  • Yeah I think I must have just thought it looked changeable in the UI. This is no longer the case for sure.

As much as I love the game it can become uncontrollably time consuming. At least in my experience.
