What do YOU want from a Subterfuge Video?

Questions about rules, how things work, etc.

  • Hey guys.

I am going to start working on making some YouTube videos of my games. I am new to the video-making process, but I have wanted to learn and, since I already clearly addicted to this game, this seems as good a reason to start as any. I intend to go through each of my games (even the embarrassing very first one where I was tricked, backstabbed, and promptly came in last). I want to make it a channel that can provide some basic tutorial stuff for new players, but as I progress, so will my skill and analysis of the games (hopefully).
    Does that sound cool?

So, my question here is - if you could choose what would be in a Subterfuge YouTube video, what would you want?

      starting off friendly/non-threatening
early diplomacy and/or initial opponent scouting
      evaluating starting positions
      attacking strategies
      defensive strategies
      when to mine
when to make peace and/or if and how peace was made
      screenshots of in-game conversations
      whatever else

If you have ideas, questions, comments - bring them on! I appreciate any and all input. Thanks. ;)

  • One thing I forgot to mention that I will certainly include is specialist hires, the what, the when, and the why.

  • It really comes down to what is most interesting in the who/what/why.

Some games have epic battles and cool specialist combos in action. Others are more about diplomatic skills where you turn players against each other, or negotiate peace.

I enjoy listening to how a game unfolds. Intentions, alliances, what the player was thinking at the time (which is often very different from reality).

  • Thanks for the advice.

That's pretty much what I intend to do - basically go through the game from my perspective, and talk about what I was thinking at each step, whether it be specialist choices, attacking, diplomacy and alliances, etc.

I am sure that will make some of the videos considerably more boring than others; regardless, I think they will be a good learning tool, both for new players, and for myself in review (and I guess also for people that may play against me in the future, lol).

  • Just do a battle with a friend to try to get as many drillers on one outpost as possible.
