What are the rules of Sub vs Sub combat?

Specifically, can I kill a martyr en route to my base by sending out an opposing sub with more drillers than theirs?

Can drillers kill specialists en route?

I'd also appreciate a section in the rulebook that covers Sub vs Sub combat

I think the FAQ should cover, this, but if not, I'll give it a go.

The lower combat priority specialist will activate first, in any circumstance.

For the martyr, all you need to do is hit the sub with 1 driller, thereby causing a combat and deploying the martyr. You do not need more drillers, as all drillers in battle will be blown up.

Yes, if the drillers win the battle, they will take the specialist captive and the specialist will be rerouted to the nearest outpost owned by the capturer.

I'm just going to shed a little light on this. Math is right, they do get captured if drillers win the battle. I'm going to assume brainz here just typed "Kill" without thinking, but the only two things that can completely remove a specialist from the game (THerefore killing it) is a Martyr explosion or assassin kill.
