about sonar range and navigators

i have a martyr, navigator combo going at pink.
but since pink is the biggest, i cant see all of his outposts.
i have 2 allies on his other side that will help guide my ship to his queen but can i redirect a sub that is outside my sonar range? If not, ill just crash it into one of his mines.
