Saboteur question

Questions about rules, how things work, etc.

  • What happens if my saboteur interacts with an opponents sub but my opponent has lost all of their outposts already?

I searched this question a bit and it is not in the FAQ...
There is a juggernaut from a dead player and all her outposts may be gone by the time my saboteur hits but I don't know.

I can think of two possibilities....
    1. Goes back to last held outpost.
    2. Sabotuer does not work.

I'm hoping its 1 but I'd like some clarity. Cheers.

Additionally if it is 1 and it is returning to its last held outpost already and it is hit by another saboteur what happens?

    3. it just disappears?

On a side note is this game ever going to get a sandbox feature so we can just trial this stuff ourselves? I'm a new player.

  • It will go to the nearest outpost, regardless of color. its an odd interaction I realize, but thats how it works :D

It's a rare situation, but while I was sabotaging my enemies last suicide sub, one of my allies captured the last outpost. Because I used the sabo at the last minute, the outpost I was trying to protect ended up being the closest outpost. My sabo was lost and I learned something.

EDIT: added my personal experience in the matter.

  • I hardly ever use the sabo do I'd recommend checking the FAQ thread but you already did that.... Sorry I can't help faith your first question.

In regards to sandbox mode, the best thing you can do curently is great a private game to test things out. No gameplay updates are going to happen in the foreseeable future.

haha that's really useful to know, thanks. I guess that's where the captured specialists would go too. Interesting might ruin me a bit though. Thanks for the rapid reply.

  • As the saboteur ends up a tick ahead of the juggernaut sub and all the nearby outpsosts are mine I might just keep bouncing it along into opposition territory potentially? I guess I'll find out.
