Turtle Smashing

You've successfully routed a man in battle, however his tactic has been not to combat you, but to withdraw his drillers and specialists to avoid capture, leaving your drillers to dash themselves on the 10/20 shields laying about. Now you've cornered him at a single bastion, boasting 40 or more shields, hundreds of drillers, and any combination of specialists.

The Turtle wants no peace, and already the man behind him is zipping forward, eager to take advantage of the campaign you have so painstakingly won. You understand that the Turtle must be removed from the picture to prevent his retaliation - and your elimination.

The only remaining question is how.

The only true answer. Pirate, navigator, martyr.

Unless the person who is turtling also has a pirate. Than your only option is to learn his sleeping patterns and Helmsman Martyr the turtle. ;)

Seriously though, if someone knows a good method to deal with turtles I'm all ears.

Best way: acquire both territories on either side of the turtle. Hire a smuggler, nav, martyr. Twice. Then fire them both toward each other at the same time, meeting in the middle like a BOSS.

YASSSS. I was lucky enough to be a helper when Radio did this crazy move in one of our games.

To be fair it was only half of what I described.

The game was called 'Top Doggs'; Panzer lent me an outpost that was equidistant from the Turtle as one of mine, but nearly exactly on the other side, and both very close.

I brought a pirate / nav / martyr out of the fog which landed at my base just as Panzer vacated another base on the other side and give it to me. Bangerz gave me a whole series of stringers to guide my death sub to safety right beside the turtle. Meanwhile my smuggler swooped in to join my death sub.

Turnout was the target - one of the best defenders for sure. He had a pirate following my death sub to try to trigger the martyr, but with Bangerz' help I was able to get the sub to my base before that could happen. The pirate began returning to the Turnout's turtle at 4x speed, while I launched the smuggler death sub at 3x speed, meaning by the time he could redeploy the pirate, I would be too close for him to survive.

He bailed from the base immediately once he realized Panzer gave me the base, and what was going to happen in about 4 hours - my smuggler / nav / martyr would have been a high price to pay but when is security ever cheap?

After he bailed, I turned the smuggler around with the navigator, back to base, swapped it for a pirate, and game over.

Turnout actually lived though because I'm a softy and he's a good guy. But it would have been the end of him for sure.

The lesson is a turtle is best taken care of in cooperation with others who have a mutual interest in border safety.
