Hey all, I'm pretty new to the game, so bear with me.

The initial production cycle is once every eight hours. The Tycoon speeds this up to once every four hours.

If I had two Tycoons, is this further reduced to once every two hours? Or does it just stay at once every four hours?

While I understand what you are saying your mah is slightly off. One tycoon reduces a production cycle to 5.7 hours. 2 tycoons reduce the production time to 4 hours and 3 is around 3.8 or something. So yes a second tycoon will reduced production time even further.

I'm probably missing something very obvious, but I am really confused as to how 50% of 8 hours is 2.3 hours. Is that not what the Tycoon does?

It reduces the time by 50% the way the game words it sounds confusing but let me illustrate. to decrease (or increase) a numbers value by 2 you have to increase it by 100%. Because 200% of 100 is 200 (200/100*100=200 alternatively) if you were to increase 100 by fifty percent you would get 150 (150/100*100=150) so if the tycoon decreased the time to four hours our equation would have to look like this 100/200(the percentage is reciprocated due to a decrease as opposed to increase)*480(the number of minutes in 8 hours)=240, which is a 100 percent decrease. But the tycoons equation only adds fifty so you have to use 150% giving you: 100/150*480=320. 320 minutes is approximately 5.3 hours. (my earlier number was incorrect, the first tycoon decreases to 5.3 hours) and WHERE IS MATHWHIZ. SHEESH, LETTING ACLONICY TAKING YOUR JOB. GET WITH IT MAN

Seriously though that is why, it only adds 50% but after 2 tycoons your increase is 100% which will be down to 4 hours. (240 minutes)

I see where you might be confused. If you look at the tycoon's description carefully, it doesn't say 'reduces production time by 50%', but rather something like 'increases production rate by 50%'.

So you start with 100% production rate and 8h production cycles,
1 tycoon will boost this to 150% production rate and 5.3h cycles ([1/1.5] * 8h),
2 will further increase it to 200% production rate and 4h cycles ([1/2] * 8h),
3 get it up to 250% production rate and 3.2h cycles ([1/2.5] * 8h)
and so on...
you'll need 6 tycoons (400% production) to get to 2h production cycles.

Okay, that makes more sense now.
