Do assassins work on queens? Can I do the pirate/nav/assassin and achieve the same goal as pirate/nav/martyr?

Certainly.
In fact, pirate/navi+assassin is much better than +martyr because this way, you don't blow up your other specs, and if you have a diplomat you can even get your queen killer right back

It have its pros & cons in different situations & blowing up the Queen with the whole base have more charm to it.

i think that martyr is better bc you can kill his queen without a pirate. nav+martyr works bc of the blast radius. u just gotta time it so that it arrives at the outpost slightly before the queen does. It also doesnt get countered by an elder.
