Surviving a Gangfight

In any game, be it casual or competitive, 3 players or 10, the Gangfight seems almost inevitable. Indeed, it's written within just about every tactician's guidebook that the path to progress is by subjecting others to 2v1, 3v1, and further fights to eliminate them early. It only takes the slightest hiccup or inexperience in diplomatic processes, and suddenly you're caught in the Gangfight. Inexperienced players can't take the heat - they resign, they throw their phone at the wall, and they swear over its shattered screen that they will never touch this cursed game again.

There are two main avenues to breaking out of the Gangfight: strategy and diplomacy. Which method do you prefer, and how do you go about it?

Diplomacy. Always diplomacy. Because unless the people ganking you are really really dumb, you can't win by strategy.

The secret to survival in this scenario is to discover the links as soon as possible. Then u have to submit them order & grow with the sharks.Keep collaborate with other victims with caution & secret.Hope for the best.Even if y find a way to drill a hole trough one of them but y lose u still can be proud.

Yes. Once other people find out you are being ganged up on they will sympathise and will want to help.

All the tips mentioned so far are good. Diplomacy is key. Being nice is key to opening up later diplomatic options.

Here's some tips I'd suggest in terms of strategy:

* NEVER resign. It makes life easier.

* Stack hires. Dont hire unless it gives you a distinct. It gives you multiple options for attack/defense. More than 2 Stacked hires is a real problem because your attackers can't anticipate what you have.

* You need a "bug out" plan; where's the best possible location for your queen. Get here there. Make them chase you until you get to this location. E.g. An Ideal location is a factory or two cluster with some distance. Having an extra gen gives you a cap of 200d without a tinkerer/MoE.

* Retreat and conserve drills. Make them eat shields.

* ALWAYS have speed with your queen. (Unless you are deliberately using your queen as bait: advanced users only)

* if possible, try to hold onto a couple of outposts so you have maneuverability options.

* If you are really cornered, martyring your assets is a noble way to prevent your attackers from gaining anything of value.
