  • The distribution of weak shields and strong shields are random (as far as I know) and generated at map generation. All shields still charge to max in 48 hours tho

  • Upon contact with any nonfriendly entities, such as subs or outposts, the martys will kill everything in its red radius (all specialists, drillers, outposts, and even queens). It is advised to put no drillers on a martyr sub, as everyone on both sides will get destroyed. In your case, just send 1 sub at the martyr, saving your 9.

  • Ohh I see so it acts like a mine in the sense of it going off upon any contact, would it still destroy a base in its area if destroyed just outside or just the subs ?

  • It would destroy anything within it's radius upon contact.

So any mines, outposts, specialists, drillers, subs, Queens would be destroyed.

  • A martyr blows up when it enters combat even if that combat is with only one driller so an easy way to counter a martyr is just to send one lone driller at it.

The lone driller is the real war hero.

  • From the Devs:

We build a "deck" of shield strengths. 33% chance of 10 shields, 67% chance of 20 shields.

Starting with each player's center position, we get the closest outpost without shields assigned, and assign it the next "card" from the shields "deck". then repeat this until all outposts have shields assigned.

We use the same deck for all players, which gives us fairly even distribution of shields among players. this is also how we determine outpost types, but the percentage of generators/factories varies from game to game.
