Stacking hires and Stacking specialists effects

Questions about rules, how things work, etc.

  • 1) If I postpone hiring specialists for three or more hiring cycles, what happens? Can I safely accumulate hires without any losses?
What about visibility and availability of hiring options? Do I only get to see the specialists available for the two first cycles? If not, do I lose the opportunity to hire from the first cycles?

Let me use an example to better explain the question:
As my first hiring options (my first hiring cycle) I get to choose between specialists A, B and C. I can see that, in my next hiring cycle, I'll be able to hire D, E or F. Suppose I don't hire anyone at this first opportunity. 18h later, I'll have two hires available and the visibility of my choices stays the same (options A, B or C for my first hire and D, E and F for the second one). Suppose I still don't hire anyone until another 18h later. What's the situation?
Do I get to hire 3 times in a row? If so, can I see what can be hired as my 3rd hire BEFORE I hire the first specialist?

    2) About stacking specialist powers: As I've been reading here in the forums, duplicate specialists do stack their abilities. For example, if I have two generals, 20 drillers will be destroyed from my enemy each combat any specialist I own is involved in (is this correct?)
Well, some specialists have abilities that involve a percentage of increase or decrease in something, for example, the Tycoon speeds up the driller production rate by 50% (multiplies it by 1.5). Do these kinds of special abilities double dip? So, if I have two Tycoons, will my driller production rate be increased by 100% (1.5 + 0.5) or 125% (1.5 * 1.5)? The latter being the double dipping.
What about two Engineers? Do I get 50% of my drillers repaired after won combats (repaired drillers = lost drillers * (0.25 + 0.25)) or 31.25% (repaired drillers = 0.25 * lost drillers + lost drillers (0.25 * 0.25))? In this case, the double dipping would be detrimental (diminishing return), but still better than a single Engineer.

The same question applies to all stackable effects. Do they all work the same way (with or without double dipping/diminishing returns)?

  • 1) Yes, you'll get the third hire if you're saving the first and second, but no, you can't see what it is yet. The selection for the third hire will show when you've finalized your first.

    2) Depends on the specialist. Read the description carefully. Some increase speed based on the base speed, so that won't stack. For some specific specialists this question has been discussed on the forum, if you search for that specialists name + "stack", you might find something.

  • Tyvm for your answers. I actually found an entry in the wiki specifying what stacks and what doesn't. I still would like to know about double dipping though.
