we just released a new build (422) and i can confirm that i did indeed solve it. so YES!

Wow I finally figured it out. What a tough puzzle. Actually found it harder than the last puzzle.

I'm so stuck on this too. I've beaten the kobayashi Maru but can't figure out how this one works! The hint is to alter the battle with the elder via global effects, but the only global effects I can find are either for altering speed (helmsman and smuggler) driller production (tycoon) or the general and security officer, which combined still leave 11 drillers on the elders sub... The second wave of hires could take care of the infiltrator sub, but there's nothing in there with global effects. but a pirate is needed to target it. I've tried using the smuggler to get the inspector in before the elder, nothing works what ami missing!

Obviously, you'll need a specialist with global effect. But the solution is not so obvious.

Just relax for a sec, and think about what you are missing.

Try to carefully read through all of the specialist descriptions in the puzzle.

Honestly, this puzzle made me realize about how powerful the specialist that I underestimated is. After all this time, I only use this specialist for only one thing, but I've never utilized the specialist's other feature.

@devs There's a typo in the hint for this puzzle. It says 'speciailsts' instead of 'specialists'.

Once you figure out the key, which myqazpalm referred to, the rest of the puzzle is mostly just logistical trial and error. It looks a lot harder than it is.

Finally got this! Feels so good when you've convinced you've tired everything.

I'm curious is there plans to have player records where it shows how many puzzles they have completed? Mainly for bragging rights I suppose. =)

Please help me it is driving me crazy. I have been working on this for several days and can't come up with the answer. I don't want to jump into multiplayer games until I finish all the puzzles and understand the systems. I have read the other threads about this scenario but am still clueless.

Its tricky, read the specialists and promotions descriptions carefully and think of a way to use a specific specialists ability without him coming in contact with the elder...

Read the descriptions and think about how it works. Then you might find the answer.
