I don't know what to tell you. You're either overlooking it, or you don't understand what a global ability is. Read their descriptions again, carefully. Global means that the specialist does not have to be present in combat for their abilities to have an effect on combat.

I still can't figure this one out. Can somebody please PM me with a solution or more of a hint.

So, the iOS version is impossible due to a bug right now, correct? I'll move on to the last puzzle if so until a fix in place, do we know when that will be?
I love this game btw and I'm very impressed by the friendly community. Can't wait to get online and enjoy the game to it's fullest once I've completed these puzzles!

You're correct, the iOS version has a bug in this puzzle. When the update comes out depends on Apple's approval process. You're OK to work on other puzzles and play online games, these last few puzzles won't teach you a whole lot. Mostly nifty little tricks that you'll probably not use a lot in online battles.

Once you know the basics, you're good to go, really.

I thought I should quickly touch on this in case others are having the same issue.

There are 3 specialists in this puzzle that can be promoted. Specialists that can be promoted have a little star above them when they appear on the map.

1) Inspector -> Security Chief: The security chief's adds 10 shield to all outposts and a bonus 10 to the outpost he is in. This additional shield is not instant and needs to charge up as per usual.

2) Lieutenant -> General: The general makes the sub he is on move 50% faster (same as lieutenant). He also kills 10 enemy drillers in any combat you have involving a specialist even when the general is not present in the combat.

The last specialist that can be promoted is irrelevant in the solution of this puzzle (because you have no factories!) but it should be mentioned anyway.
3) Smuggler -> Tycoon: The tycoon makes all your factories produce 50% more drillers per day and a bonus 3 per cycle in the factory he is in.


I won't tell you which of the Security Chief or General is needed but I felt that there was some confusion regarding this.

P.S. ios version with 55 drillers on the revered elder sub is currently bugged and cannot be completed. In case you missed it written elsewhere.

Can someone please PM me the solution. I've spent a solid 4 days on this and can't figure it out

iOS new version just posted. Solved it first time. If you elder sub has 45 drillers, it's solvable. If it's at 55, it's NOT!!! Enjoy.
