That's a simple question that has no simple answer.

My favorite band of all time is probably Matchbox20. They came out strong when I was around your age, and the lyrics of their songs really got to me; they were singing what I was feeling. Really, they still do. They're great.
I listen to the radio a little, and I find myself enjoying plenty of the pop music that's out right now. Yes, even Justin Beiber.
But mostly, I listen to music on Spotify. I have playlists that are a little all over the place: 60s & 70s rock, Fun., Semisonic, Sublime, Paramore, BNL, Bruno Mars, Florence + the Machine, FOB, etc. Lots of different stuff, but nothing too out there. I go with what I am in the mood for at the time.
But the mix I've made that I listen to most is more deep Indie; it includes Walk the Moon, Vampire Weekend, Youngblood Hawke, Two Door Cinema Club, Tegan and Sara, Young the Giant, the Wombats, Atlas Genius, Broken Bells, Cage the Elephant, etc. Most of them are bands that the majority of my friends don't know. Maybe this community will know more of them.
I also listen to a lot of instrumental music as well. I have a weekly D&D game that I run, so I am always looking for mood music for our sessions. That includes lots of Irish and Scottish folk, jigs and reels, but also things like soundtracks to movies and games, especially composed by James Horner, Tyler Bates, Howard Shore, and Hans Zimmer.
All that said...I have to admit that I listen to one thing more than anything else. My boys (ages 6 and 2) love Disney movies, and they adore the songs. So when we're at home, or in the car especially, I have a Youtube Disney playlist that we listen to the most. And yes, I know all the words.
