    I guess that all this pattern only belongs to one sentry.

  • I just want to say I called this. At some point early on in the game I made a joke about what would happen if everyone went sentry heavy. But not even I could imagine the extreme madness that this caused. You can't do anything. It does kind of feel like a cold war. You can't launch a missile because it will immediately be shot down.

    Also, I'm kind of curious if this could get even more insane. What would happen if everyone gifted their princesses and sentries to a single base? What happens if the sentry's circle is bigger than the entire map?
    Zyxe? Now that is a name I haven't heard in a long time.

    In my domination game, there is a base which really covers the whole map with 3 sentries. You know what happens? The player who has 3 Kings (me) goes berserk and launches 1300 subs to attack at 24 outposts simultanously and see the guy cry :p (but yeah I lose like 300 subs only to sentries)
    And yeah, this only works because we are 3 players left and the other guy is pissed off at the sentry guy as well and doesn't attack me. I don't know what would happen if there were more players.

  • Generals got me around globe-covering sentries in the past. The diplomat helped--but not in the way you expect. I sent a stream of specialists out; each one killed 30-40 drillers. All were in range of my diplomat. But rather than have the diplomat release the specialists, I sent the diplomat out with a nav just before the specialists hit. The specialists got captured, but I would take them back with the next sub (or the one after that). They'd then be available immediately to move on to the next base. And the enemy couldn't schedule a release, as they are auto-released in his time machine. If necessary, I'd send a 'distraction' sub out as well that drew sentry fire.
    But that was against a single player with triple sentry/princesses.

  • Or you could use the combo of doom: {General(s), Diplomat, Navigator, Navigator, Pirate, Infiltrator}
    Your outpost: General, Diplomat
    Your sub A: Pirate + Navigator
    Your sub B: Navigator + Infiltrator
    Their outpost: Any number of drillers

    Let d be the number of drillers they have and g be the number of generals you have. Then let n = ceil[d/(g*10)].
    This combo allows you to take any outpost after about n*30 minutes.

    I'll let people figure out what to do with the combo. :P

    I used that in a game recently. Had 3 generals, and a diplomat. So I sent a navi out, followed by Intel officers in a couple different subs. Navi took out 30 drills, came back, and was released by the Intel officers so it could turn around and hit again. Took out a base with 200 drills, and only 3 hours from first hit to final capture.
