Argument starting in three.. Two.. One..

Stacking kings isn't that bad, as long as you remember that shields are effective against kings and, while not that easy to beat, still possible.

Plus, for proper King stacking, a game has to be extremely long, since I believe after three hypnotist hires after x number of total hires, it becomes mathematically impossible to get another one.
And by the time someone gets a fourth King, you probably have at least two, so it renders the effect nearly pointless.

  • When every game ends in everyone stacking kings, something needs to be changed. Different tactics should be viable, when the meta has stagnated to one strategy it needs mixing up.

On the bright side, this news has made me postpone my deletion of Subterfuge.

  • I find king stacking quite balanced and even a little weak . I think kings must be respected more and have more advantages . I have won 4 rated game in a row (all gold ) and I owe that to my handsome kings .

Ps: forth is actually on the way .

+ after what pepe said I should say , you can never trust your hires to be hypnos...

Specs can be gifted between players so your mathematically impossible statement doesn't take that into consideration.

  • Also, since Kings are most effective with single mega-stacks of drillers, I've found the simplest and most beautiful counter is a Double Agent paired with a Smuggler (or other speed specialist) to get the DA in position ahead of the incoming mega-stack.

Sending a series of specialists out, backed by a General (or two!), is also very effective because the global effect of the General occurs before the combat phase, which in this case is pointless anyway since there are no drillers on the sub.
