The Foreman

Of all the specs, this one has some attributes that not every spec has.

-in a way, the foreman could be seen as a racial stereotype of young black man working as a factory worker due to lack of education

-probably the specialist with the most basic function, but still a very good one

-But most of all, HOW TF DOES HE CHANGE GENDER WHEN PROMOTED?!
One theory of mine is that he is transgender and as soon as he gets enough money (the promotion) he goes and instantly undergoes a gender changing surgery.

So feel free to share your thoughts about specs too. I want to hear them.

Very insightful, you had some time on your hands eh?
Lol I love your gender swap thing, I always noticed it but never acknowledged it.

Could it be also a representation of a misrepresentation of women in the labour force in industries such as factories, mining, and otherwise? It could be a woman that is dressed as a man in order to be allowed to work to provide for her family, and only when she is acknowledged for her great skill and promoted can she freely be employed without the masculine disguise?
Women did this for years, from the 1800s up until the 1950s, because they weren't given the opportunity. So if she dressed as a man to get the job, and she proves she's a good worker worthy of promotion, then she doesn't need the disguise.
Hmm..... deep stuff right here. Would anyone like to give her a totally awesome back story? Something along the lines of a former stripper who has two kids but is a single mom, and the stripping industry drops (which it never will but whatever), and she needs to get a job in a factory.

The engineer is always a girl...........sure the foreman is much more rugged and tomboyish, but it's still a girl. She can't exactly be wearing her nice dress to the factory each day. :P

Promotions aren't necessarily the same as their un-promoted self.
Biggest case: aging smuggler becomes younger tycoon.
However, my theory was that the foreman was just a girl with hair tied back or cut short.

The foreman being female fits historically too. Woman were commonly hired to work in factories since they could be paid less than men. Until labor laws came around, of course. . .

I don't think the tycoon looks any younger. Just better at covering his wrinkles and stuff.

If you go for the gender-change theory (which I love), then he is the racial stereotype of south-east Asia. Which *does* include working extensively in factories since very young.
