  • Mathwhiz probably answered all the question up to this point so I'll just answer them all in a public thread.

    Proof 9.9999... =10
    .1111111...=1/9
    .2222222...=2/9
    ...
    .9999999...=9/9=1
    +9 +9
    9.9999999...=10
    Bam.

  • Also Mathboss responded to colts by saying calculus and vectors. No idea if it's right, but it's what he pmed me by accident.
    I'm highly suspicious of your motivations.

    Interesting way of proving it, although I don't think 0.99999=9/9, at 0.4444=4/9 it should then go to 0.555...56=5/9.

    My answer (and I think I win this one ;) ) is that in the wonderful world of the great white north, we used to have these things called pennies. After a while, the head moose decided to ban these unlawful creators, and round all costs to the nearest $0.05. Therefore, $1.32=$1.30, $22.68=$22.70, and $9.99=$10.00. Thereby proving that 9.99....=10

    A. Prove that the lines are parallel, and

    but if we abolish the penny, then stores are gonna start rounding prices to 5c and the nickel will effectively become the new penny!
