My answer (and I think I win this one ) is that in the wonderful world of the great white north, we used to have these things called pennies. After a while, the head moose decided to ban these unlawful creators, and round all costs to the nearest $0.05. Therefore, $1.32=$1.30, $22.68=$22.70, and $9.99=$10.00. Thereby proving that 9.99....=10
