I don't wanna sound like a grinch, but you better make sure the players in the game are pretty active. A valid strat may actually be to not log on until after a successful attack has finished, so that you can't see the players clamoring for a gift. Of course, that strat would have significant disadvantages....

A very valid point 6...

I'm hoping that since it is generally forum regulars we will all do our best to honour gifts in as expedient a fashion as possible.

And of course, the decision to ask for a gift should also consider timing. Don't sit there asking in public chat fifteen minutes before combat ensues...
