I don't care if the game starts when I'm asleep. Nothing happens for the first 15 hours anyway

Yes, but all of us need to be online to join. Since there are L1's, we need to do it in a public game.

Yes, but all of us need to be online to join.

Nope, just send out the links and people will join when they can. If you really want, you can make the game size too big, and then press the start now button and have an 8 hour window before the game starts

Yes, you could, but an even easier way of doing it would be to make the game private right from the start. Avoid all the mess.
