  • Game idea:

    *normal 8 man mines
*at the beginning of the game whoever is the last to join gets assigned the first "dealer" role.
*after a 48 hour period, the first dealer gets to call out, in public chat, a "disaster" and a color
*the color called will suffer the consequences
*whoever suffers the consequences becomes the new "dealer" and can pick a new color, and disaster, after a predetermined cooldown period.
*the disaster goes into effect 8 hours after being called.

    disasters would include:
tsunami: pushes 5 drillers from all territories back to queen (12 hour cooldown)
mutiny: caller also select an incoming sub which will be turned into a gift(must be at least 8 hours away) (12 hour cooldown)
holiday: no subs may be launched for 12 hours
goes into effect 8 hours after being called (i cant stress this enough) (8 hour cooldown)
miscommunication: called must attack outpost declared by dealer with all subs at closest outpost (8 hour cooldow)
flu: all specialists are forced to stay in bed for 6 hours, and cannot leave outposts. subs with navigators must return to closest owned outpost. (12 hour cooldown)

maybe another rule like: no calling whoever called you.

would anyone play? we could always refine the rules before starting.

edit: for clarity the "cooldown" would start immediately after the "dealer" makes his/her call. the disaster always starts 8 hours after being called (just in case someone is asleep amd gets called)

also a rule like "cant be dealer for more then 4 hours after cooldown" might be nice

  • I think this could work, only if its an anonymous game. Otherwise past rivalries may play a role in the game. Also, will this disaster be announced in the Public Chat? Because everyone has to know, but it could also work if its done privately... Interesting idea, but it needs a bit of refinement

  • I will play, why not?

@colt. Public chat would be the best, and past rivalries are all but extinct. I don't think past relationships influence people negatively too much. Anyways, this game is all about relationships.

  • Yeah. This sounds like fun, I'd play.

Maybe a disaster could be that you have to move all your specialists constantly for a period of, say, 24 hours? Maybe that's too strong, I dunno.
I'm highly suspicious of your motivations.

  • Ok so with the miscommunication disaster, I see an opportunity to make it fun, but it can't be public chat. With miscommunication, the person must attack another from the nearest outpost with all force present, but true miscommunication could only occur if the other person is unaware of it. That would be interesting... possibly enough to break an agreement? That would be interesting, and that's the only reason I brought up the private (or maybe semi-private) chats. But, again, it would be very difficult to monitor and enforce

maybe miscomunications should also jam all of his chats? we could also allow the dealer to announce that he was calling miscomms but didnt have to explain who in public chat. could do it privately? that would also allow other players to fake like the miscomms was called on them, and take a free outpost :P

  • I do like toggs idea. Calling miscom in public, but only saying who in private.
