Pirate Seas

Please read the entire post before making any judgements. Thank you.

Simple concept. The game plays normally (no mining or eliminating each other) until everyone has 2 pirates and 2 navigators (if you get these you must take the pirate/navy no matter what) and then I send out a sub with 1 driller to one outpost of everyone's and we all* have to send everything we have to target one of the subs with a nav. We will send 1 sub per pirate and navigator we have. If we win, we must reroute to attack a different sub. You don't have to attack my starting subs, you can attack any subs. You MUST send your queen on a sub, and once you have sent your subs you cannot send subs from any outposts. If the game reaches a stalemate all subs must reroute. If this happens twice without any combat in between I will pick one player's outposts to remove all drillers and disable shields and then everyone lands in the outposts and must fight, never leaving the outpost area. But hopefully that won't happen.

*As I can't target my own subs, I will wait for other players to send out subs and I will target those.

Thanks, Sheep

This particular shade of red made me so mad that I couldn't read the rest of the text.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding. So lemme break it down into edible chuncks to better convey what Captain Sheeple has to say.

First off a little terminology: I will refer to a ship as a Pirate and Navigator Combo.

Rules.
1. No Mining or early elimination allowed. All other sorts of treacheRRRy is fair game.

2. Super Pirate Deathmatch only starts once once every one has 2 Pirates and 2 Navigators, or 2 ships.
3. Once step 2 condition has been met, Captain Sheeple will launch a sub to each of yar outposts. In turn players must lock with their Navi Pirates with everything as many drillers as possible. One of these Ships must hold your Queen and her sweet booty.
4. An all out brawl occurs in which we compete to see who can take out and capture the enemy Ships. If a Ship( from now on the name of a Navi Pirate) wins it cannot return to its owner and must select a new target.

5. Once Ships are launched, not movement of drillers is allowed within your territory.
6. If a Stalemate happens all subs must select a different target then the one they currently are pursuing.
7. If a Stalemate occurs twice, Captain Sheeple will select a single outpost. This outpost, known as the Poop Deck shall have its drillers evacuated ands its shields thrown starboard. He who controls the outpost will win in this case.

Correct me if I misinterpreted your text.

So essentially there is a mad rush to acquire both good specialists and a mass amount of drillers before everyone gets a 2 pirates and 2 navs. There is one extra specialists slot available on your Ships, the other being taken by the Queen's booty, and global specialists may be key. Diplomacy and working together will be powerful.

This game mode has a ton of holes in it, but it may be able to be ironed out with some love.
For instance, playing with fewer players may help conquer some of the vision problems you will undoubtedly have.

Thank you for reading this.

Please let me know of all the holes you can find so I can iron it out. Maybe players also need to get two princesses to prevent vision issues. Also, please add that if you get a pirate/nav/princess if those will be needed the player MUST hire it. If there is more than one of those things they can choose between them.

Also, could you be as kind as to tell everyone else this topic isn't dead? It still says 'last post by me' so it does look it.

Tournaments are rarely checked due to the fact most of their updated content is people merely organizing themselves, so that could be an issue.
Another issue is that this game mode will take a very long time to set up and be too complex or too loose ended for people to deem it worth playing. Pirate Nav battles are fairly tedious and the winner in this situation could merely be determined by the usual luck of the draw, like getting a king or general or engineer.

In my opinion its a bit complicated, and like Janitorial said, relies a bit too much on luck. I commend you for your creativity and I hope you keep thinking of good ideas, just remember that simplicity is fun
