  • Dearest,

The battle does not fare well. Though a strategic move has knocked out one of the enemies numbers, the three remaining are but more enraged. Some unfortunate luck has placed a member of ours on death's door. I have been forced to employ a series of risky maneuvers, and I hope that they end better than the last time we were together. When I next write, I fear my fate will be sealed.

In happier news, Captain Sliver said that I was the best member in his command, in front of all the other men! Perhaps a promotion comes my way.

Lieutenant Commander Ensign First Officer Best Man Blobbydude.
I'm highly suspicious of your motivations.

    Colts here, day something
I knew the stalemate couldn't last forever. The Blob to my West as launched a full forced attack towards my army. However, I was prepared for this, thanks to the intel reported from my superior officers. With my prediction of promotions of the enemy's specialists, I planned ahead, allowing for a safe defence and possibly a strong counterattack.
We shall see if things change, but I foresee little damage being taken.
Blubbydude's risky attack came, of course, with the help of some gifted specialists. However, he did not calculate my actions, my speed, and my general laziness to move anything around. He had good timing, but I had great fortune on my side... possibly the spirit of the great Who. If it weren't for his sacrifice, maybe I wouldn't have defended as well... rest in pieces.
I have now entered a state of blinding fury, which I shall unleash upon the enemies. With the help of Rlin and his soldiers, we have begun to force a path through silver. Blobby's attack has allowed me to temporarily set sights on his Captain, something I intend to do.
But not right now, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is on
    As always, Colts out

Finally! After the shockwave from Ghandi knocked out my own communications station, I have finally got it working again! However, things are not looking so well.
While our fleet started off our conquest on a swift foot, the natural positions of the ocean floor prevented me from gaining a strong foothold. Perhaps my overconfidence against Gen. Niverio allowed him to reverse the tide against me. In order to slow his advance, I had to sacrifice Srgt Ripate and Private 2nd class Traymr in a honorable battle at Ghandi. How ironic that a figure of peace became a spot of death to protect our men.
Then news came in that Gen Niverio was coronated! I would be fighting a King now, but I know of many a kingdoms which fell before determined armies. To solidify our own legitimacy to the land, we encouraged HME Blobbydude to be King himself, Long live the King!
Now that battle grows more desperate as the so called red King pushes through my lands, slaughtering troops left and right. His ally, the cunning rlin, is also hot on my heels, but I am sure my men will preserve re no matter what! Victory or death, no surrender!

  • Acting Commander Silverberg. Black Box Entry #4. Day 7, 1032 Hours.

    Crew manifest: ---
Cargo Manifest: 804 Drillers (100 in my own flagship), 3 days' rations.
Opening, Primary, Secondary salvos fired for effect. Tertiary marks on standby.
    Objective: Tactical and Controlled Retreat

I don't think a strategy has ever failed me quite so hard as tonight. A General, Saboteur, Pirate, Helmsman down, a northern counteroffensive stopped dead, and absolutely nothing to show for it except a report of a hostile assassination team sighted facing S'33'E, 150 klicks to the north and gaining fast.

My men are broken inside. A mutiny and the ensuing improvised mass court-martial has left five of my own dead, and the rest have no will to fight. The enemy had arrived better prepared from the start. My communications panel has fallen silent, leading me to fear the worst for my sub-commanders on their respective flagships.

The vibration and small chime that heralds a coming Pager message has become my ruin. It has made me sleepless at night and a zombie come daylight. I need not turn from my bed nor even crack open my bloodshot, dreary eyes to know the words as they flicker across its liquid-crystal panel. It's all the same. Another defense smashed, another counteroffense routed. And each time a little closer to home.

If this black-box is recovered, do not deliver it to Reigning Commander Niverio. He's not safe. You'll be executed, and this Box will be disposed of quietly. Find any other commanding officer not in his pocket. This information cannot be found in the wrong hands.

I've fallen to ordering disposal of bodies in the fuel turbines, hoping against hope that their meager body fat will be sufficient to turn over the engines. The last of the nitrous oxide is also spent in the intake paneling. I've declared this a Keter-class containment breach, and issued a general order to commence reasonable retreat.

    ...

    I'm scared.
There is no avoiding war; it can only be postponed to the advantage of others.

    Colts here
I do not know how I feel about today. I am conflicted, my emotions battle with a double-edged sword.
I have had many attacks arrive at my doorstep. The Blob to my West has continued to send his forces at me, which I continue to deflect with minimal losses. Still.... there are losses. He only becomes more powerful each day, with a continuous stream of generous gifts from his comrades. It seems they cannot make use of them, only he...
The enemy Captain Silverberg sent a speedy attack the other day, something which I am sad to say was impossible to defend. We suffered great losses - I cannot imagine what the enemy has done to our captured soldiers. I fight with greater passion knowing that our men are being tortured by those animals. I will save them.
The greedy enemy captain tried to continue his barrage through my base, yet thanks to my comrade Mathwhiz's capture of his general, the attack fell flat and we captured his hired helmsman.
I have had my rage fuelled, I will no longer hide it. I will kill Silverberg. One way or another, it will be done.
It frustrates me that there have been no casualties in the commanding officers of the enemy. We lost our dear Who's to them, yet their men manage to survive every attempt. While discouraging, we know we are at the advantage now, and we must capitalize before it is too late.
I have worked long and hard in this fight, I've put my heart into it, and I will come out victorious for Captain Niverio.
I hope to report a victory next time I log on, but war is tricky, and the tides can turn

  • Day 7 afternoon:

Amy: Bob wake up ! Stop sleeping on the console!

    Bob: Huh? What?

Amy: Silver launched! Silver launched! The stalemate is over.. He made a move!

Bob: *Peers at the Sonar* Do you understand that attack

Amy: Its deception sir.. He's baiting us! He wants us to send in Colonel Sanders.

Bob: He wants Mr. Kung Pao Chicken?

Amy: He wants the whole Panda Express!

Bob: If we lose it we lose Colonel Sanders we lose the secret recipe. We leave the Queen vulnerable to an attack.

Amy: No, we can put in a request Sir. We can ask the queen to secretly give Pepe Le Pew the secret sauce to age him into a old man so that we may know the art of war. Then we can ask to queen to draft into the army Colonel's Sanders brother from another mother Tsing Tao to go and rescue Colonel Sanders after Colonel Sander's goes and stab Silver in the back with the art of war. The secret recipe would then be safe sir and we will still get fried chicken for lunch the next day maybe a little delayed.

Bob: But that attack... it makes no sense. What does Silver have up his sleeve? Why the saboteur, the general and the pirate?

Amy: Either way sir, at worst our lunch is late and if successful the enemy no longer has the art of war. If we succeed sir the we can win the war. We can get our commission and we can go home. We complete our tour and I can go on my date with Dave.

Bob: ? ... There is that small window. It is as if the enemy is purposely allowing us to break his ranks. Queue the orders. We launch everything 4 hours!
