  • I would like to play. But will this be like a captain vs captain game? If the games are team games, how does one team win? I mean if we get points for our individual position, why do I care how my teammates do? I would just try to finish first like any regular game.
I think there needs to be more organization on how a specific team wins. If we do a Capt. v Capt. type game, we can appoint random captains each game and whichever team loses their captain first loses, then the other team gets a certain number of points
The biggest issue with your setup is that there is no incentive to play as a team. In a 2v2, first place gets 16 points. second gets 13. If I'm on a winning team, how do we decide who gets first and second? and why would I even care to get that far, if I can guarantee a win on my own without a teammate? the scoring system makes teamwork discouraging. I think each member in a winning team should get an equal number of points, and with randomized teams it would make it so that no one would have the same point values. This means that we need to figure out a solid definition on how a team can win. I recommend Captain vs captain style.

Yup. That's smart. But captain vs captain can also be difficult, because captains are usually the most targeted and most likely to be eliminated. I wouldn't want to be a captain. I think you could try a mining game, but no mining until after a number of days equal to the number of players. After that, make it team with most Np total wins

I like that idea a lot. So you're saying that after someone finishes with 200 neptunium, the team total decides which team wins. And then all of the team gets an even number of points.
I love it. Thanks Math, you're completely right about the CvC. I like this idea

I see your point. So at the end, all points will be divided by number of games played.

If we get one more person we can start a 3v3.

That would make it complicated and just as unfair.
Someone could join for one game and win for a 100% win rate

In that case, if you leave the tourney, you lose 20% of your points for every game you miss after leaving.

    Change that slightly.
    1. No attacking your own teammates.
    2. When someone gets 200 NP their team wins. The top points are given out based on the positions of that team.

Still no. 1 works fine, you never attack your teammates in a team game. But what 2 is promoting is set up a solid defence, then mine the crap out of it. You need to awards the same amount of points. I think what could be interesting is take the total np then divide that by how many players on the team, and award that many points. So basically, the average np total is how many points your team gets. That makes it so that you want to coordinate mining speeds with your team for best results
