Why is it the worst of three worlds? It seems like the best to me.

Ranked - because there's no point in putting in the effort to win and not have it help your rating

Forum - because all you forum people are awesome

Anon - so there's no temptation to treat players differently based on your past history

What would your ideal be?

Because a rated game pigeon holes certain levels to automatically gain or lose. If it's w a forum member, we assume they aren't an asshat. The point of rated game, effectively, is to retard the antics of less involved players; ergo prevent resigns and silly moves and hope we have experience/plannng etc. Rated games with known quantities only punishes the losers. If the people are good to go, casual is every bit as fun as any ....or should be.
