FOR NEWBIES - Specialist Combo Videos

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I don't profess to be an expert, but in the interest of helping new players, I've uploaded some basic specialist combinations in <1min videos. I hope this will give newbies some fresh ideas for their gameplay, rather than sending a single martyr at my outposts.

  • when I use a diplomat, my specs still get captured until they reach an enemy outpost, then they get released. How did your sab helm return to the mine after collusion?

  • @pinpin
I believe that footage is pre-patch. I don't think it works the way it is shown in the video anymore (should probably remove that one CJB)

  • Can't you just use a pirate to get your specialist back after a sub-to-sub combat? This allows you to get your saboteur back without it having to arrive at the enemies' base then coming back to your base and it removes the need of the diplomat entirely.
Zyxe? Now that is a name I haven't heard in a long time.

  • Yes, you can use a pirate to retrieve captured specialists. That's a great trick.

Kevlar: it was pre-patch. Removed link. Thanks.

  • You should include the General Takedown. If you have a general, a pirate, and a bunch of specialists at an outpost that is being attacked, you can wipe out incoming enemy subs by sending all your specialists towards the enemy sub on individual subs. You intercept the one you sent out first with your pirate, which causes it to return to you. As long as the enemy attack was coming from your enemy's closest outpost, the first specialist you released will release all your other specialists on the way back. It's most effective if you launch your specialists as close to the enemy's arrival as possible. This can be countered with an assassin, a navigator, or by gifting the attack sub.
