umm.....what am I asking the Devs to do other than release the updates? Things such as troubleshooting they'd have to do anyway.

Or suppose it's something less malicious: faulty code that screws up the download or the app. Who's going to fix that? The devs. Because their name is on this thing, and if their game breaks people's phones, it's ultimately their fault. I'm no lawyer, but I suppose they could do some waiver-like contract with the modders, but dang, if you were asking them to waste their time before, asking them to deal with legal issues is a whole other level.
Ok, so maybe they do run it just before they release the update, just to check the app runs properly (and how long is that going to take? A few minutes?). But really, since the option is there for the beta testers to switch between different versions, if something accidentally breaks the game they can just revert back to the original. But of course its a risk that a beta tester would have to take.
roadkiehl wrote:Listen, this is just never going to happen. Sorry to break it to you, but Subterfuge is going to stay the way it is. And, honestly, that's fine. There's a reason you and I both enjoy this game so much already: because it really is quite good.
The more people who believe your statement, the more true it will be. I'm sure you wish the Devs didn't leave, and the only way to simulate that is for willing members of the player base to take their role indirectly. If you want future updates, you'd better start believing its possible rather than just 100% denying its going to happen, because otherwise it really is going to happen, which no-one wants. With an ever-decreasing player base, Subterfuge will be deserted before long without fresh updates. It really is up to the player base now to keep Subterfuge alive. If you like the game so much, why not beg to contribute? Only we can make their hard work a worthy investment for them.
