Game idea: cat and mouse

  • Cat and mouse: in this gametype one player plays against all other players. He wins when he's declared unbeatable. The other players win after they have eliminated this player. Potentially the player in last place becomes the next defender.

    Rules:
    - Attacks can only start after the third hire
    - Defender cannot hire specialists
    - Attackers have to gift all their hires to the defender right after the hire has popped up
    - Defender cannot choose specialists

  • What about all of those people who aren't near the target? This game would be very boring for them. Could they still take out other people? Also everyone will gift the defender the worst specialists. I am not sure if this will work.

  • I am not comfortable with this game mode, because players can simply arrange the gifting of a martyr and at the same time a 1 driller sub to the outpost, leaving the defender has no choice but to flee, and since he is playing against everyone, he will be in one-two outposts, which makes it impossible to flee. It would be a nightmare.
    Imagine how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of the people are even stupider than that.

    It was just a specific example. We have 9 players and 4-5 of them will be neighbours to the person, he cannot defend subs from everywhere. That is what I am talking about. General point is, since the defender can't choose specialists, he wont be able to counter the opposing strategy.
    Imagine how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of the people are even stupider than that.

    He couldn't. The martyr would be sent from attacker 1 to attacker 2, passing right beside Defender. Attacker 2 only has to send 1 driller back at Attacker 1 to blow up Defender. Only way to survive would be a pirate, but that would make it a one time use.

    But using your same example. If 5 people are neighbors then after 4 hires, the defender has 20 specialists. (Minus all useless specialists, aka infiltrator and martyr) ~16

    Plus, a smart person can easily turtle effectively with 5 specialists or even less.

    Err, good point. Besides I don't think this game doesn't have its batch of serious problems, and can't be played before it is fixed.

    As stated in the rules, the specialist must be sent to the defender asap, so it cannot be intercepted or triggered by other players.

  • And another question: Since the defender cannot choose hires and all hires are sent immediately, does that mean there are no promoted specialists in this game?
