Time and time again I have join a match with a player I had met awhile before, making it so I had a reputation. In some games I have lied to people but the name of the game is subterfuge, on the other hand there have been times when I have been loyal.

Now some of the angry players come back in later games considering our small player base, then they target me first or don't trust me at all, even though I'm not betraying that game.

A name change each game could make it so no one knows your name until the match is over, making so you have a fair chance no matter what

Many here do that. Just make a separate account. That way you have a clean slate and no one recognizes you.

Neptunes pride has a thing like this...

Anyway, yeah. Like aclonicy said, you could create multiple accounts. However, I think it's more fun to have past relations with someone. It could be bad, yes, but you could also have a good ally based solely off your last game together

I have 3 accounts, all with L2. And I am happy to have paid for them, since I love this game and want to support it!

That said, Mr. Pineapple, having your reputation follow you from game to game IS a part of this game. It can work to your detriment or your benefit, depending on your play-style, especially in recent games.

However, you can play in anonymous games if you wish. This is pretty much the exact point of them.

Well I mostly play anonymous so there wouldnt be any records .

If everyone could change their name and get a clean slate there would be no point in keeping an alliance right to the end of the game. I think it's better that you get to form a long term opinion on potential allies and have a reason to think twice about taking your ally's mine 10 hours before the end of the game.
Maybe consider that if everyone is launching on you straight away when you enter a game it's because you've taken a very short term view on the politics...

I play care bear style in diplomacy style games. So, I should end up getting good reviews and ratings.

However, I'm more in favor of new names each game. I don't like the video/screen capture, don't like rating boards. Each game should be a new universe with fresh starts.

Diplomacy and subterfuge should be game by game with limited Intel.
