Yeah, I kind of consider shields to be a mere speed bump to Kings and for the most part you'll want to prioritize speed over shield penetration with kings- Engineers and Infiltrators are low on the tier list compared to Smugglers, Admirals or Helmsman.

But I was thinking the exact same thing- I was thinking either the head of a spy ring or a mobster boss but nothing that i could come up with could quite give it that elegant regal subterfuge feel...

Provacatuer- hmmm classy sounding but like me and Zyxe where thinking maybe a head or leader so follow in with the leader theme
Generals bossing specialists to take a few drillers down in combat.
Admirals yelling at thier fleet comanders to go faster.
And Kings yelling at their drillers to...uh... drill harder.

  • I really like the idea of buffing the infiltrator by giving it a good promotion, but can we realistically add a specialist to the game? Can you contact Ron/Noel and see if we can help improve the game code-wise?
I would either remove the local buff, or remove the global and it's ability would be to remove 80 shields.

I mean no, probably not. Realistically Noel and Ron will probably not add any update to the game let alone develop a new specialist. There's really no point to making these fictional specialist spotlights.

I'll disagree with you on the just merely makinghis ability to crash through 80 shield.
In my opinion, the problem with the Infiltrator (he is probably the lowest in terms of priority when hiring specialist) is this:

He is the only purely offensive specialist- he must be attacking an outpost with shield to have any impact, whereas other specialists can be used defensively or for utility. an example from the offensive specialist pool would be Assassins being used to deter your opponent from attacking an outpost with specialists, a thief suiciding into a attack sub to decrease its driller count, and the Pirate's ability to rescue suicided specialists.

When compared to those the infiltrator is very limited in what he can do.

So increasing the amount of shield the infiltrator can crash doesn't really help him out. I mean, maybe it could help you against a turtle, but if they are turtling they probably have some anti specialist defenses in place. So I gave him a sweet global, so his presence is everywhere. I think global effects are pretty awesome and make promoting a specialist worth the wait.
