Alliance game player formed

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Seeing how primative the chat and "ally system" is in this game leaves it open to a world of wonders. I personally love big alliance games where groups fight each other in a world war type of way.

My envisionment of rules would be:

    1. Dont backstabbing or go back on any agreements

    2. Individual cease fires are allowed between enemies, but please don't make them with all the enemies.

    3. Fighting amongst allies may only commence ones all enemies are taken down, in which it becomes a FFA where anything goes that don't break the above rules.

    4. Formal alliances at beginning will be announced or decided on public chat. (Still deciding on this one)

Please give me your thoughts on this or tell me if your interested and we can set up a private game somehow because the inviting is a bit shaky with no in-game friend system.

  • You'll notice in the rules no continued alliance agreements spanning games

  • It would span over one game and be a 10 player game. The only thing that would span over games would be the agreement to the rules between participating players.

  • Personally the default Code of Conduct is enough for me. Rules for forming alliance would over-complicate the game's 'diplomacy'. People can have their own rules, and can abide by it whether they want to or not. The little restriction is what made Subterfuge awesome in the first place - no limits.

  • I think what he's suggesting is just a single game, 5v5 battle. I think it'd be a fun change from the default way to play.

Pretty much, just with specific rules so it stays in order. I love games that are so basic and open with the system that many player formed games like the king of the hill they did comes to life.

  • i've been thinking of trying to get a similar sort of set team games going at somepoint.

the rules i was thinking of would go something like:
    -3v3
-teams decided before game starts (either randomly assigned or all three join together)
-the team with the highest average neptunium at the end of the game wins. (or possibly just the lowest placement scores)

i've found the game funnest when i get chances to coordinate strategies with teammates i trust and work together, so i was trying to think of a way to encourage that without the game becoming uncompetitive or too unbalanced on the side of players who join together

  • This kind of game seems to spring up any time there's a new 4D game out.
I think it's a great idea, though! I'll be watching this thread for any news!
