Yeah, some of these people will stop playing. And also some of the people who'd like to keep playing, but are annoyed by the resigning players.

As your rank goes up, and you join/create games with higher ratings, I really think this should become less. Also, you can check the stats (resignation rate) of other players in a game, before joining.
