Double agent sabatour glitch/bug/exploit?

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I was in a game and i found something pretty interesting. I sent a double agent to stop his sub that had a sabatour. What happened was interesting. I got his sabatour and lieutenant AND his sub with the double agent started heading twards my outpost. So not only did I get his specialists and destroyed his sub but I also got my double agent back for my hypnotist to convert him back. I think this has something to do with the sabatour and double agent combat priority. Does anyone have any thoughts/explanation?

  • The sabatour should have one, since it has a combat priority of 3, and a double agent has 5

  • Sooo in terms of order, the sabo first turns the opponent's sub around (your agent), then the agent swaps the owners of both subs and destroys the drillers.
So if the whole combat plays out, you get exactly what you saw.

The sabo's description doesn't say it ends combat, so I would assume the double agent's ability still applies (for all you MtG fans out there, the sabo's ability goes on the stack, then the agent's)

It's a weird interaction though. Thanks for pointing it out!

  • I've already talked about this here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=719
Its the first post... You should have just sent a single driller sub at the double agent and it would have converted back into your ownership without you having to hire a hypnotist. I found that out by chance while I was trying to take over my opponents outpost that he had sent his saboteur and 68 driller from :)
So basically if your opponent sends a saboteur at you and you have a double agent you can pretty much destroy all of his drillers and take all of his specialists at the cost of one driller :P Now I've even get gifted my enemies saboteurs if I have a double agent I can reposition quickly, hoping they'll use it along with lots of other good specialists to attack me just so I can just get all of them :P
