Suggested Feature: Start of game option: Anonymize Players

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I'd love to have the option to Anonymize the players in a private game. One of the codes of conduct in Subterfuge is to not make any deals/opinions in one game affect the next right? Problem is, our group holds grudges between games, and in negotiation/political/diplomacy like games, that results in me getting targeted by the entire group (because I win too often >_<).

    It would be nice to have a feature to just change everyone's name into their respective color so you can't tell who is who until the game is over. So instead of:

    John
    Bill
    Cindy
    Greg

    it would show:

    Blue
    Red
    Green
    Purple
    bridger

  • Just asking, wouldn't one recognize another through their speech patterns? We repeat ourselves a lot after all.

    I was thinking that disguising your typing/word use would just be a new layer of the game :)

  • It's in the works as a creator option for potential future update. Suggested and agreed upon by many players as a fun option or toggle.

  • Why don't we make into a game mode. Mystery mode
    Here's how it would work
    1. Players names are not revealed(until game ends, so just the color shows)
    2. Sonar range reduced by 50%
    3. Mines cannot be detected outside sonar range
    4. All subs have a 25% speed increase
    5. Players are not notified when other players hire/promote specialists
    6. No intelligence officers in the game
