Sentries and instantaneous projectiles

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • For a game that takes 12 hours to travel the same distance, why are projectiles from sentries instantaneous?

  • If a sub enters the range, it will be hit.
Since there is nothing the sub can do once it enters the range, it is assumed the sentry attack will hit. Therefore, there is no need to have a wait timer.
Imagine the sentry's attacks as locked guided missiles with a sonar and radio range. This means the missiles will be able to hit the sub if the radio waves can guide the missile that far away (50% of the sonar)

  • I can picture the sentry firing mislles or machine gun bullets, would be kind of cool looking I think.

Maybe that could be the upgrade. The projectile takes time to hit its target but does a bunch more damage when it hits. Or maybe area of effect damage.
