Multiple General Diplomat Cheese

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • So, our games have been reduced to hiring multiple generals, hiring as many diplomats as you can, and then sending specialists on driller-less attacks. Each specialist does 10xthe number of generals sub damage and each "captured" specialist is returned thanks to diplomats.

Is this really what the devs had in mind for this game. Driller count has been negated.

  • Hmm...I believe you can counter that if you have +700 drillers a day like somebody had in one of my previous games. Also if you get a hypnotist + navigator + pirate you can just take all the incoming specialists with 0 drillers for free.

EDIT: and if your enemy has drillers on their subs then thats smarter... then you'd have to wait until they are released and chase back after them, but basically your enemy is just sacrificing a specialist for 10x[number of generals] drillers, a deal which I would readily take (unless they had like 5 generals or something)

  • It's a common strategy, and it's been around since well before launch. The devs knew about it, and they nerfed the diplomat because of it. I think the form it's in now is the intended form.

In my past experience the diplomats ability is prioritized over the hypnosists- Specialists would be captured at my outpost with my hypnotist present, but immediately return to the nearest ally outpost. Does adding a pirate to the mix change this interaction?

hahaha what I mean is that you target them outside of your outpost, you don't wait for them to arrive, you just pirate them!!!! and the navigator means that you don't have to wait for the pirate to return and you can snatch another specialist
