[Feature Request] Ability to grant other players your vision

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Hi, all.

    I think it would introduce a new layer of diplomacy if you could share your view of the map with other players. This is really useful in Endless Legend.

    Thoughts?

  • I feel that this would remove certain levels of diplomacy. If I ally with someone, they might not trust me if I don't give them vision. And I mean, maybe they shouldn't trust me, but that's part of the game. They have to rely on word of mouth. With vision implemented it would make misinformation almost impossible. Right now, if I lie about something, and someone else says I'm lying, you can't trust either players, because either of them could be lying. With vision, this situation wouldn't be very common. It would also make specialists like the intelligence officer and the princess less useful.

  • Hmm. I guess I look at it as another negotiable level of trust. You probably wouldn't want to share your vision with many people.

    And the intelligence officer and princess still make sense (since you can share these with allies).

  • Another possibility might be to require mutuality. Sharing only happens if you both agree.

  • This idea was considered during development, but was eventually scrapped probably due to this being a game of trust, not of sharing pictures.
    My faith has found a resting place,
    Not in device or creed;
    I trust the ever-living One,
    His wounds for me shall plead.
    I need no other argument,
    I need no other plea,
    It is enough that Jesus died,
    And that He died for me.
