  • In a recent game I was in, my navi/pirate combo got targeted by a pirate + double agent. This is a video I made explaining to you how to outrun a pirate.

  • Gee this sure looks familiar. :P

In all honesty though, I feel this should be changed. The pirate should just follow the Navigator as close as it can. The way it currently is, a Navigator with anything that gives double speed(Admiral,Helmsman,Pirate), is just un-targetable with a pirate. And because of the way a navigator works, the only way to target one normally is with a pirate. So it seems rather unbalanced to me.

  • I agree with Vext
But that was legitimately awesome, bouncing between 2 subs like that

  • That's pretty sweet man. I'm glad that Stefan didn't know about this in our recent tourney game. I had a second pirate at a diff location though (cause I realized he could redirect) which I think would have avoided this tactic.

  • Yeah it's not that it isn't awesome, it just seems unfair.

I swear on my time machine it showed me getting past the martyr. If it hadn't I would have let that pirate circle jerk go on a bit longer before sending my pirate off to attack... I cri every time

That's actually why I asked Zannalb to send three 1 driller subs from Chongos. You could target two with your pirates, but I'd have a third left. Also I asked The Stash to send 1 driller on a very long trajectory so I could create some distance between your pirate and it's base outpost, for a next attack.

The attack I had in mind would have been to get your pirate as close to Stella as possible. From there:

You would have traveled home at 4x speed, and I would have targeted a sub behind you with 2x speed. So when your pirate arrived home, my martyr would have been halfway already. Then you could have targeted my Nav+Pirate+Martyr again, both would have traveled at 2x speed, so they would have met at ~75% of the way towards Triton. I had a small doubt Triton would have been inside the blast radius, hard to see how much of Triton was in the martyr range. 0.1-0.2h more would have given me certainty.

Of course you were already at 190+ Neptunium and this attack would have only slowed you down and make you put your specialists on a sub. We failed to take over another mine to cut 20% Npt so it was too little too late, you won! Might be useful for someone else though.

Yeah, I agree, this 'loophole' creates an attack that is literally unstoppable...But there's no real way of fixing it, is there?
