Monetization Idea - Clans or Guilds

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Clans / Guilds

$1.00 (same price as medals) to create one and anyone can join. You could also have clan/guild chat and, dare I say it, a clash of guilds... orange you glad I didn't say banana?

Joking aside, I'm thinking it's an easy implementation for an additional revenue stream especially if someone can belong in more than one.

  • Bad idea, it'll encourage cross game alliances.

  • I've been wanting clans since day 1. It could be an entirely separate metagame where clan alliance isn't even shown/accounted for in general games. There's unranked, ranked, then another game mode for clans.

  • I think its a great idea. I would love to be able to chat with the people I have met in game, while not in the same game as them. I don't believe it promotes cross game alliances since adding a person to you favorites has already done that. It's also a good idea to have clan vs. clan games. 3 clans in a 3v3? top clan takes the medal, and gets a higher rating for your clan... Or something of that sort. How fun! :D

If implemented properly it could discourage them, put the clan tags infront of their name and it makes it obvious tie everyone in the game that their probably going to work together. They could even outright forbid clan members from joining the same ranked game.

Give them their own game mode maybe with a higher player cap where they can play in 3+ clan battles.

    I would pay for it

This implementation style zerashi suggested is probably ideal and as RedQueenn has mentioned, one gets friendly with players and as you trust them, you tend to work with them in the future. Having the guild, or as RedQueenn nailed it by calling them fleets, would at least make what is known to some, obvious for everyone.

The Fleet vs. Fleet options would be great, there are already open games requesting a team structure or 3v3 or 4v4. Monetizing what is already going on without encouraging a pay-to-win (which I don't mind but I find most hate).

  • I like it as well.

Not only is it a source of income, helps minimize the effect of "soft" multi-game deals, but I think maybe most importantly it will strengthen the community and drastically reduce the number of people who quit.

For this reason, I think it should cost money to create a "Fleet" (great name for it), maybe as much as $10-20. However, the creator of the Fleet should be able to invite anyone- including L1s. If an L1 feels a sense of community, its much less likely that they quit, and much more likely that they buy L2. I played counter-strike for a stupid number of years because I was in a clan (a terrible clan who never competed), largely because it was fun to play with people who I thought I had a connection with.

  • Good idea or no, if implemented they should be called Factions

    Not clan, guild, or fleet

Yeah, I kinda listed in detail a way this could be implemented on another thread....
