Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Hey guys. I'd like to share with you a revenge game I was part of. An ally of mine backstabbed me early on and I was able to dispatch of him later in the game. I placed 5th.

I made a video commentary of my maneuvers! This is part 1

    EDIT PART 2 IS HERE

    THIRD AND FINAL PART

(Sorry for the awkward pause in the middle, my dog was barking, had to close door)

  • Nice vid! My comments:

--If you have and alliance with beige, why were you so worried about losing clarkrye that you just gave it up in a deal?

--Not a dick move to kill that inspector. If youre fighting someone, its fully expected.

--Not a fan of that king promotion. Cost 2 hires, you would have easily taken seabass anyway, and losing shields means beige and teal advance on you more easily.

  • Great video! :) Well scripted and clear. Hopefully newbies watch it because a lot of players stand to learn how to deal with certain elimination, and you have avoided it well!

Looking forward to part two! :)

Ps. That was a nice move on the security chief. ;)

Yea I did have an alliance with beige but I knew the precarious position I was in and clarkrye could tempt him.... clearly it did. Also, This was one of my first games so I didn't have a full handle on how much to trust allies and such. I should have trusted him not to attack it regardless of what happened later.

About the king, I knew I couldn't win. I couldn't defend on all sides so I had the idea to try to take out the queens of my betrayers. And the king would help. Also, since my factories were being compromised, I had the notion to save as many drillers as I could. The king promotion could have gone bad quickly but I had some good maneuvers coming up in part 2.

part 2 will be up In a few hours I hope.

  • Look at how many 20 shield factories you have though. Perfect set up for defense. I think maybe you were overly focused on taking Seabass, as your cap would not be an issue with the amount of fighting you were doing. Killing the DA was nice, but I think your strongest play would have been to hold that core of factories at Ausich, Goss, Coustou.

You're right I could have done that. I recorded part 2. It's in a separate thread.

Thanks! I appreciate it. I wrote an outline of my thoughts to make sure the video was well commented. Part 2 is out!

  • Eh, put both links in the same thread. No need to split into 2 threads.

  • Oh, yeah... nice cliff hanger at the end of pt 2. :)

Huge mistakes by cosmic latte, letting his spy get revealed, AND not supporting teal even by funding.

-and yes, looks like teal quit because he knew he was dead, and didnt want to resign so it wouldnt show on his stats.

My only critique on your play is I would have wanted to keep that DA. Perfect spec for turtling. Not much use for it for blue.
