Enhancement req: martyr blast radius increases with troops

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • It would be pretty cool if the blast radius of the martyr could be incrementally increased with number of troops on a sub or at a site. Something like 100 troops adds 20% blast radius, so 400 troops would be blast radius of a typical sonar range. That way, such nuclear options are expensive, but exciting!

    And it would be nice if the blast radius could be fine tuned with precise troop counts.

  • Very scary thought! Although I think it would be too aggravating. Many turtles have that many drillers. Wanna destroy you enemy while his death sub destroys you just add 400 drillers and watch half of his bases explode. It almost makes the martyr feel OP...

  • I like the idea of increasing the Matyr's blast, And it would make for some interesting ESG's.... Ignoring the fact that the devs have disapeered, I doubt this would be implemented. 400 drills, nav, Matyr and a helmsman (to evade pirates) would give a 85-95% succes rate for eliminating queens. There would be nothing to counter it.
    Simply put, my job here is to keep the forums afloat through any means necessary

  • If 100 for +20% is too strong, then 100 for +10%.

    My point is, it would be great if the blast radius was able to be fine tuned.

  • Here's an idea that seems less likely to become the new meta. Matyr stacks. Each matyr on the sub increases the Blast range by X percent. Maybe have it so each matyr on board increases the range by 25%? Three matyrs have a range of a normal outpost? Having a princess on board also increases the range?
    Simply put, my job here is to keep the forums afloat through any means necessary

  • I'd say that each Martyr present should increase the blast radius by 20% standard sonar range. Meaning that 3 martyrs would have a range of 60% of standard sonar.

  • If it ain't broke don't fix it. The martyr already serves its pourpose just fine and I do not think it needs any buff. If some of these suggestions where implemented then players who are close to winning because of their good plays can have it all taken away with 1 sub. That's not good game design. It would drive players away from the game.

    Now, if it were a custom game mode... And martyrs were made far more common....

  • We just need to make mods for the game. Then we could make a mod that overpowers the martyr all we want.

  • If we do something like this...there needs to be the ability to have a bomb specialist to defuse the martyr or something...or maybe have the war hero be able to negate the blast...something to counter it.
