Losing a battle due to a regularly hired specialist is ok. But I'm talking about have a landslide victory taken away by an overpowered specialist, or, even if you win the battle, but lose a ton of troops you didn't have to lose by a player you may have had ready to kill.

    I need no other argument,
    I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that He died for me.

  • Losing a battle to one of these specialists would be the same as just losing a battle, period.
It's a strategy game, just because one 'plans' something out, doesn't mean it will work out that way.

    Although I have a question.
Can these specialists be gifted? If they can, then players that didn't pay can also make use of them
Also, does the timer reset every time a new player comes in possession? Or does it have a fixed time no matter how many people pass it around?
It would become way too overpowered if I could use one of these, then gift it last minute and basically share the specialist with an ally.

Either the Devs implement this in every game, or add it as an option, or make it a purchasable pack (or include it in the lvl 2 purchase).
If the option to include these specialists is selected upon game creation, then everyone in the game would be able to hire these speciliasts. It wouldn't be fair otherwise. What we will need to decide is who can join these games.

And they have one use only, as far as I intended anyway. We can change that, but what I am suggesting is that they have only one use, then when you use them the either disappear or become just a useless specialist unless you have a general. If another player captures it while the ability is applied, you still have the ability for the full duration of what the duration is. And if you gift it, your ally won't be able to use it unless you haven't used it yet.
There could also be the possibility that the specialist becomes a multiple use specialists such as it could recharge is special ability so that you can use it for X hours after Y hours of recharging. Of course you can only use it when it fully recharges and once it fully recharges it won't keep recharging.

This doesn't answer the question...I'm asking if the 'timer' on each specialist would be reset with each no owner of the specialist.
