I drop 10$ on crap all the time without thinking about it and this game was givin me wayyy more than 10$ in entertainment.

I have almost never spent any money on any games (maybe only about $25. ever.). That's why some people think $10 is expensive. I don't just 'drop $10 on crap all the time', I am a conservative person and won't spend any money on luxuries unless I am treating myself (which happens rarely). If you have that attitude, you would go to the nearest diary and buy a drink for $1 instead of spending $10 to get L2. And its not that I don't earn much. Sure, I'm only a teenager, but I can earn L2 in less than half an hour. But I don't buy it. I mean, of course I want to support the Devs, but if I really wanted to support something, I would support people who are in greater danger than the Devs (like the refugees in Africa right now). You just have to accept that some people would think of spending $10 on a game as too expensive.
That being said, I am fine having L1 tbh, as long as the game remains fair without me paying anything.

    Fallout 4
    Black ops 3
    Splatoon
    Etc. etc.

Why is it that people can spend $200 on a console (XBOX/PS) and pay $60 for 10 games to play over the lifetime (maybe more). Net spending: $800. But why they can't pay $10 for a mobile game that is clearly just as well developed as a COD game? No clue. $10 isn't much... For an app, yes it is a bit higher than normal but if you can even compare this game to COD then it must be worth at least $60.

Yeah but what about those people who have only ever spent about $25 dollars on games? Actually in American dollars it would be less than $20... So with net spending $20, it should be pretty obvious why some people think a $10 purchase is expensive.

I get your arguments, but you have to understand that when we say, "support the devs," we're not treating them like charity cases. We're saying that this is an exchange of goods. We pay them for their work to create a fantastic game in exchange for the ability to play at a higher level. And when we say, "I want to see this game succeed," it's because it genuinely is worth the money the devs are charging.
I respect that you want to support people in need. But that doesn't mean that the devs shouldn't be paid for their product.
One more thing: Working part time, I make $10 in one hour. I've put hundreds of hours into this game. I think it's a fair price.

  • You're also not factoring in that his game isn't 'pay to win'. You get the full package for 10 bucks. Other games like clash of clans or game of war will take 5 here and there, ultimately adding up to a lot more than 10$

    This.
I'd even have a problem with a subscription-based monetization scheme. I view this game as the mobile equivalent of a board game, and so I expect to pay for it like a board game.

  • I agree that $10 is a lot of money to pay for an app, despite what everyone else says. However, I happily paid the $10 because I saw the quality of this app, and wanted to support it. It just seems that $10 is a tough pill to swallow. I know this sounds evil but it may look more appealing if they split up all the purchases. Being able to enter private and ranked matches is $3, having unlimited moves is $3, and so on ad so forth, but still keep an option to buy all of them at once at the discounted $10 price.

tbh I've grown used to not buying these things, its not that I don't want to support the Devs, its that I have Asian parents (I think I've mentioned this before). And I don't have a credit card.

  • And just saying, I get that $10 is a fair price (where I live its actually $13, but that isn't relevant), but 'fair' doesn't necessarily mean 'cheap', especially if you look at the absolute price, not the relative price.

  • I would not buy this either (because of Asian parents) but I think a solution would be to do what someone said a long time ago (I forgot who). That is, to make monthly/quarterly payments an option (say $3 every 3 months?). In that case people might be more inclined to buy the one-time $10 package.

Nooooooooo. They had made roughly $23K. But spent over $70K making the game. Which means they lost over $47K making the game.
