Specialist Idea "Prince"

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Does anyone else think that the prince is undermined by the fact that he has to be at the outpost in order to work? Though a global effect might be a bit much, if he just had the power to demote anyone in his sonar range, he would be better. First off this would allow for more sneaky use of the prince. If you are sending him to a base or if he is already on a base the opponent might suspect your trick and would not easily be fooled, but if he was just out of sight you could move him so his range hits that base for a sneaky demotion. It also gives you more options on which specialist to demote since they don't all have to be stacked on one base. That does seem to be the point of the prince after all, giving you more options. Besides, if he is theoretically going to cost you four hires (2 promotions for the first King and 2 promotions for the second King which would be a prince) he might as well have this boost in power.
Zyxe? Now that is a name I haven't heard in a long time.

That's a good idea! I think I'l add it to the OP.

Reading over again, I noticed that his local ability is equal to his outpost's range (like I suggested) and his global ability is to capture princesses (that boost outpost range). Would that be a problem? Part of me thinks that it would cause some balancing issue, but the other part thinks that the Prince doesn't do anything over powered so seeing him stack with all those princesses would be very fun.
