Not to turn this into a defacto "problems with domination mode" thread...
The problem is that the same players who supposedly like a longer game, do not like the side effects that come with a longer game that maybe they didnt even realize was because the game is longer.
A long game makes specialists seem imbalanced. It leads to stalemates in which its almost impossible for anyone to win, or if it were, and would be grueling and tedious.
Theres also some non-timing problems, but they wouldnt be as much of a problem if there a more realistic end goal. Turtling becomes a serious problem if you have to siege up like 4 people at the same time, there just arnt enough drills to maintain it. Also the idea that basically all alliances must cannibalize eventually is a little ridiculous, and basically turns the entire game into ganking 1 or 2 people at a time, in order of favorite to least favorite (your ability to fight is of minimal importance if 4 people decide its your turn to die).
Anyway, my vote is not to change Domination, but I do think it is broken, and it worries me that a new player might only ever have played domination and didnt get a true representation of the game.
If you like it, thats fine. But stop making threads to change the game as a whole when really the problem is Domination mode, not the mechanic that looks broken in a 4 week game of domination. (<thats not targeted at anyone in specific, just to everyone)
