Operator’s Record Cycle 2
Operator: mm1Menace
START OF LOG:
Menace here.
I awoke in the middle of night, sweaty and shaken. The cause of my nightmares is uncertain; it could be the stress of this new mission, as these brigands have proven themselves to be both more organized and fiercer combatants than I originally believed they could be. It could also be the empty bottle of Jack Daniels on my nightstand, one that I do not quite remember finishing. Regardless, the dream was a harrowing one:
I find myself surrounded by enemies. An unknown foe with a tremendous force on my northern side throws out threats and backs them up with troops. Others nearby are hesitant to help. But worse, there is darkness behind me; the shadows swirl and move, revealing nothing but implying danger. Not knowing what to do, I commit my subs to my one clear enemy in the north. But then, as I do, something hideous ensues…the blackness behind me fades and I can see what is lurking there – it is the great Bastard Radioactivity bearing down with his own drillers. Worse yet, he is aligned in attacking with another…my very own Captain, Nojo.
My screams break my sleep, thankfully. I know that is not reality - perhaps in another world, an alternate universe…
As disturbing as the nightmare may be, we must get back to the task at hand.
I have taken Soren from the Hibernating Bear, as I knew we would. We followed that with an easy victory in Wallace. While he fights with Operator Juanma over Calhamer, he maintains a force in nearby Maranga. I am sure we will break his will and he will again go back to what he does best, either running or sleeping.
One of the Brothers Blue Balls has yet to make an appearance on my radar. Korf hides in the west, likely biding his time waiting for a more opportune time to strike. It is just like these scalawags to only think of themselves, and that lack of teamwork is why they so rarely have success. Regardless, without Korf this poor Niverio looks lost and alone, one melancholy Blue Ball. We have recaptured Solo, and even with reinforcements coming, he will not be able to hold Smithrand for long. It is just a matter of time before Neptune falls as well. Then I expect he will ask Crover for advice on how to run crying.
Like the ravenous B3ast he is, V3xt continues to grow. I am confident that my Captain, along with Operators Rooz and Juanma, will check his growth, confine him, and capture him. I just hope that they do not lose their morality along the way; many times I have seen war change people, and often they become like those they are fighting. Let us wish that none of them go the way of the B3ast.
Though I am more than confident in his abilities, and I have never seen him fail, I worry for Operator Panda. His territory is deep across enemy lines, and his navy has been scattered. He has been incommunicado; perhaps he is just running silent to avoid detection. Perhaps he has only “Turned Off the Radio.” No matter what, to him and to his men, and their families, I wish them luck.
To Captain Nojo and all our Operators, uphold your conviction, preserve your confidence, sustain your loyalty. Ours is the side of goodness, of law, of honor. Remember that.
Godspeed, drillers, and good luck. Menace signing off.
Over and out.
