I was thinking about this in bed last night (Rock n Roll, I know!) and I can't see why L1 players couldn't take part. Obviously they would only have the Tournament game going, but that could be to their advantage. I can't be the only one that's playing multiple games with several ideas for each, each of which escape me on a daily basis because I can't remember which game is which.
I guess it all depends on the number of people wanting to take part that dictates how the tournament will be done. I have a few ideas, I'll get them thought through properly and drop topkilla a message about it. Ok - Got everything I need to know together:Overview:
-Game Rules will be the same as standard play.
-L1 and L2 are welcome to join.
-There will be 3 stages of play.
-Each stage of play will have at least 2 weeks of scheduled playtime. (That should be plenty for everyone to finish their games.)
-Games will have between 6-9 players in them and will be as balanced as possible.
-Registration will close on Nov 3.
-Stage 1 will start Nov 7.
-Following stages can either start 14 days after the start of the previous stage, or we can schedule them in a way to avoid holidays. Depends on what everyone wants.
-To help keep things fun and competitive, you will be disqualified if you auto-resign, resign, or eliminate yourself by gifting away your queen. (I hope this won’t be an issue.)
Stages of Play:
Stage 1:
-Players in each game will be determined by random.
-Exact number of games/players per game will be decided on Nov 4th, once we have an exact player count.
-Top 3-5 (dependent on player count) players in each game will advance to Stage 2.
Stage 2:
-Players and games will be arranged in a way that no player (hopefully) will be in game with someone they played against in Stage 1.
-Top 3-5 (depends on player count) players in each game advance to Stage 3.
Stage 3:
-Final game/stage.
-All players who have not yet been eliminated will play in one game.
-Winner takes all
