  • I don't see where this is an advantage for the roommates.

I assume that both pairs of players are willing to share all the information they have. If one of them don't want the other to see some specific things, maybe because he is planning to backstab him, then the roomates would have a disadvantage. I still don't see why it is unfair to play against 2 or more players who know each other in real life.

  • Sorry thats a typo. Meant to say "premature agreement". Basically an agreement spanning multiple games.

  • And such an agreement can be made by two people who met first in the game too. Still don't see the advantage of roommates.

The only thing is that communication is easier when you can meet in real life and you know that person better. But that's all and I don't think that's so much an advantage that it is unfair.

  • If you can communicate that closely it's essentially the same as having two accounts in the same game.

  • But if you have two accounts on the same game its controlled by one person. Having 2 people is different because both of them want to win (unless one of them is a really really nice guy).

  • I don't think it's worth getting upset about. It's bound to happen and I can't think of anything that can be done about it. If someone straight up tells you that they're playing with their roommate, then tell everyone else in the game and gang up on them. Other than that, I just assume there are unbreakable alliances out there and try and win anyway.

  • Morally, it's my opinion that announcing that you are roommates in public chat is sufficient to level the playing field.
Also, i dont think there is a game rule prohibiting communications outside of game... so, people could easily text screenshots or even share videos now o.0

  • Isn't there a feature that I can jot down some details about the players I encounter?

I'd definitely be marking those players as roommates so that I could be forewarned if I met them again.

Agreed, but I wouldn't accept someone's attempt to do that. The fact that you can only share text in the chat, adds to the paranoia!

Yes, for players who've purchased L2 clearance. I'd write that down as well, in addition to their geographical area if I can find out their sleeping habit, and wether or not we've had fruitful diplomacy.

  • Kip, the offenders were proktoper and what is neptunium from our game. Also it was unknown they were roommates until late game.
